# Gmail

> Connect your agent with Gmail for email automation

## Overview

The Gmail app integration allows your agent to send emails directly through your Gmail account during conversations. This integration enables automated email delivery, follow-ups, and notifications based on conversation outcomes.

***

## How to configure Gmail

**Step 1: Navigate to the Gmail app**

In your Strada dashboard, navigate to the **Apps** section in the left sidebar, then locate and click on **Gmail** to begin the configuration process.

**Step 2: Connect to Gmail**

Click the **Connect** button to initiate the OAuth authorization flow. You will be redirected to Google where you can authorize Strada to access your Gmail account.

<Note>
  Make sure you're logged into the correct Google account before clicking Connect. You may need to grant
  permissions for Strada to send emails on your behalf.
</Note>

**Step 3: Authorize Strada in Google**

On the Google authorization page:

1. Review the permissions that Strada is requesting
2. Select which Google account to connect (if you have multiple)
3. Click **Allow** to grant Strada access to send emails through your Gmail account

Google will then redirect you back to Strada with the connection established.

**Step 4: Verify the connection**

Once redirected back to Strada, you should see a confirmation that your Gmail account is successfully connected. The connection should then show up on your list of **Connected Apps**.

## Gmail Permissions

The Gmail integration requires the following permissions:

* **Send emails**: Permission to send emails on your behalf through your Gmail account
* **View email address**: Access to your email address for sending purposes

<Info>
  You can review and modify these permissions at any time in your Google account settings under **Security** →
  **Third-party apps with account access**.
</Info>

## Security Best Practices

* Only grant the minimum required permissions for your use case
* Regularly review connected apps in your Google account
* Monitor sent emails in your Gmail account to verify proper usage
* Disconnect the integration if it's no longer needed
* Keep your Google account secured with strong passwords and two-factor authentication
